“ACTIVE RECREATION”
For the last three weeks, I didn’t understand the real essence of fitness, but as those weeks passed by I can now see and feel its importance to us. Fitness is the condition of being physically fit and healthy according to Google, and for me it’s not just being physically fit, but also mentally, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Because when say that someone is fit and healthy, he or she must be healthy in all aspects.
Every Tuesday, we meet with our MAPEH teacher, she often gives us physical activities and exercises for us to realize and experience the true meaning of fitness even for a while or maybe a lifetime. Those exercises where interesting and at the same time it was fun. Then, I realized that in order for me to have a fit and healthy body, I should expose myself and participate in physical activities. Those activities woke my lazy body and mind, and to shake things off.
Physical Fitness is to human body what fine tuning is to an engine. It enables us to perform up to our potential. Fitness can be described as a condition that helps us look, feel and do our best. More specifically, it is the ability of the human body to function with vigour and alertness, without undue fatigue and with ample energy to engage in leisure activities.
Physical Fitness involves the heart, the lungs, and body muscles. Since, what we do with our bodies also affects with our minds, fitness influences to some degree qualities such as mental alertness and emotional stability. Exercise must become one of those things that are done without asking a question, like bathing and brushing your teeth. Patience is essential. A person must not try to give up and surrender if he or she wants to be fit, because giving up is not the key and it will only make you more insecure about physically fit people.
