The issue in this article is how important it is to have critical thinking skills and how to incorporate it into making the best decisions in the nursing field so the patient can have the best outcome. It is essential to make the decisions taken to be effective and safe for the patient.
The stated premises is the fostering development, following a practice of 12 months was a great success. It led to incorporating sessions into the clinical orientation for all the new nurses entering the unit. These sessions are given by mentors who have graduated
An unstated premises is that nursing is a very challenging career and cannot be taken lightly. Lots of thinking is required in order to accomplish the goal, which is to make every patient feel safe and comfortable. It can make all the difference in the world to one patient.
The conclusion is that the ability to think critically takes years to accomplish. Taking sessions in critical thinking can make any patient situation result in a better outcome just by applying some of the skills learned during these sessions given to all the new nurses entering the facility. Critical thinking sessions gave new nurses an excellent way to learn from their mistakes by encouraging new nurses that their mistakes weren’t mistakes but learning experiences. This gave them the opportunities to make the mistakes before actually caring for a patient.
Caring for the outcome of the patients requires lots of critical thinking skills while advancing the safety of the care given to the patient. Showing the capability to promote these skills can make a huge difference and can greatly impact the patient future outcome.
