Mardi Gras Leave Report
This is a special leave request for me to go home for the Mardi Gras holiday. My leave will span Lundi Gras (Monday), Mardi Gras (Tuesday), and Ash Wednesday. This is a holiday season that lasts a whole week in Louisiana and has been observed by my family simply due to religious and traditional reasons. My home is in Austin, Texas and I am of direct Cajun-French Decent. Needless to say, this week is a big week for my family. The reason for me missing three week days is that these are really the most important days in the Mardi Gras season. To add to this, my younger brother is getting confirmed in the Catholic Church on Feb. 20th I am his sponsor which requires me to be there, but flight expenses are $500 more for me to get home.
