Marginalization In Of Mice And Men By John Steinbeck
In the novel Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck marginalization is a theme that resonates and occurs throughout the story.This particular theme gives off a sense of emotion sent from other characters and the reader. Steinbeck uses all sorts of literary devices to display marginalization,On page 73 Steinbeck uses dialogue to express marginalization. Curley’s wife walks in and provokes them by referring to them as weaklings by saying “They left all the weak ones here”, on the following page (Steinbeck 74) she then refers to them as “bindle bums” to make herself feel predominant.
All the marginalization has a heavy effect on the characters observe Curley’s wife she is always alone but when she talks to people she is turned down by mean scowls
