She started fresh like a baby being born to the world. Her journey to the United States was very terrifying. She was trapped and almost got rapped while being lost in the desert. A male named Jose helped her from being attacked and 30 years later, they are still friends. It’s like a close connection, someone saved her life. Roxanna had to grow up faster than any other child, not in the same way as her mother but just like her mother, they both struggled. She started helping her family at a young age to leaving the country, being at risk at being killed, to just have her family living comfortable. Coming to the United States was very hard especially for an immigrant, women of color. Roxanna was known for her goodies, she loved baking. She was the baker at Caffe Museo and now is a manager at Panorama Bakery. Caffe Museo was a popular museum in San Francisco, she was the known baker worker. Even though her job was very bright, Roxanna was treated with discrimination due to her not being to communicate a lot in English and her statues. She had so much ambitious to be thrown away. A lot of workers were mad and jealous that she was rising up the ladder while others were still on the same level. Managers who still contact her today to help them out because she is the best. Her whole world was not just around her love for baking. Roxanna started a family, she had two little girls named Rebecca and Katya, and still was working full time. She never stopped working the bakery industry, she looked at her baking with heart eyes. She would take her daughters to work so the employees can play with them or even help her make a mess. Roxanna's life was not perfect. Her oldest daughter, Rebecca, was diagnosed with cancer at only fourteen. She had to cut her hours to be on her daughter's side 24/7. She’s the best mother anyone can ask for, no doubt. Definitely was rubbed off from Mama
