As a result, she caused other scientists of her time to study insects and metamorphosis like she had. Lastly, she inspired google to feature her 366th birthday as their Google Doodle for the day. Her studies stood out because she was a woman.
In fact, she learned her skills through very humble beginnings. When her father died her mother got re-married to the famous painter, Jacob Marrel. At a very young age, Maria’s stepfather spent hours with her teaching her to paint. She enjoyed it very much and used her talent to her advantage by painting her insects. She never went to college because by the time she was 14 she left home to study with two famous artists.
