A successful event does not happen by chance. It needs a lot of planning and organization. When it comes to planning a wedding it is no different. It can be overwhelming mainly for the bride since, most of the time, she is the one that takes care of almost everything and beyond that she has to keep up with daily life. Below are listed some basic helpful steps to help the brides on the planning. Obviously they can be adapted according to the budget, type of event and time.
12 to 6 months before:
Define the wedding budget with your future spouse. This is the first and most important step because doing so you will be able to know your limitations when buying and contracting services. Have pre-marital medical examination. It might reduce the risk of disease or medical complications for you, your future spouse and any children you may have.
Choose the kind of wedding. Informal, semi-formal or formal based on your budget.
Set a date. Be sure to consider holidays.
Make the guest list. Keep in mind that catering costs are usually calculated on a per-head basis.
Choose a church. Contact the church of your choice as soon as possible to make sure both you and your fiancé satisfy the church’s requirements and get the desired date.
Choose reception venue. Research and negotiate the contract. Then, leave a deposit.
Plan a honeymoon. It should be a location that both would enjoy and budget would allow. Be mindful to details like if passports or shots are required.
Register for wedding gifts. If possible, sign up at least three retailers.
Get fit. You want to look good in that gorgeous dress. Staying fit does not happen overnight.
6 to 3 months before:
Hire a wedding planner. This is also an import item. It can be very stressful dealing with the daily life plus planning a wedding. You can find situations and problems that you’re not familiar with. In addition, you will have to look for vendors and deal with
