Mariano Garcia Lorca Research Paper
.Federico Garcia Lorca is revered as being one of the best writers of the 20th century and one of the best overall in Spain. Not only that but he was also a gay man. Being that he was a Spanish man in conservatory time period, living in an extremely religious, machismo dominated culture contributed to his need to keep his sexuality hidden. However, not at all nonexistent. Through this, Lorca’s homosexuality drives his works and with it encrypts underlying meanings into his plays, poems, and art to express his true emotions. Myself being a fan of Lorca and finding out he was gay made me more interested in the topic and encouraged me to research underlying connotations that may have meant entirely different things.
