What is Neuropathy? Causes and Treatments

The article that I choose to write about is based on something called Neuropathy. This is a collection of disorders that occurs when nerves of the peripheral nervous system are damaged. This is located near the nervous system outside of the brain and spinal cord. Neuropathy causes many things such as pain and numbness in the hands and feet. But this results from traumatic injuries, infections, metabolic disorders, and exposure to toxic. Diabetes is the most common causes of neuropathy. Having this disorder can affect nerves that control the muscle movement; it can also affect internal organs, such as the heart, blood vessels, bladder, or intestines. The people who get neuropathy are the ones who have diabetes, who can’t control their blood sugar levels. Also people who receive organ transplants, aids, and who have some type of immune system suppression have higher risk of neuropathy. The process of a full medical history with physical and a neurological exam that will determine tendon reflexes, muscle strength and tone diagnoses neuropathy. But not often is neuropathy diagnose, it usually takes a lot og blood test to measure levels of vitamin B-12. How is neuropathy treated? By traditional pills and creams to help the diets and therapies that stimulate the nervous system.
The participant name is Michael Brady who has overcame his nerve pain after 10 years of suffering. There is a Neuropathy Treatment Group who specializes exclusively in the research of natural ways to reduce the pain and symptoms related to all forms of neuropathy. The good thing about this treatment center is that they don’t offer any products that aren’t related to relieving the symptoms of neuropathy. Wes Jones is the one who is conducting this study; he is also the president of the Neuropathy Treatment Group. In this articles it states that Michael had been diagnosed with

I believe there has been peripheral nerve damage because of the symptoms that he exhibits. It seems that his receptors are not effectively communicating back to the central nervous system; in addition he is losing his somatic reflexes in his feet, both indicating damage to his somatic nervous system. I guess there could be damage to the central nervous system, but I would expect that the symptoms would be even more severe.…

To keep his message light-hearted, the author employs a number of invented words and false examples of medical research. One cannot help but laugh when reading how "reflexology" is a technique that heals every part of the body because it massages the foot, which connects to everything else. While this style of writing may make the audience laugh, it is also alive with social commentary. With his various outlandish claims and funny scenarios, the author parallels ridiculous and unfulfillable promises often made in the marketing industry. He manipulates wording to make his ideas seem verifiable, just as promotional businessmen often do, even though closer examination would cause his statements to collapse upon…

My Uncle has calculated that he has suffered through 780,840 hours of constant pain since the onset of this disease. It is a difficult disease to understand and little is known about it. Generally it targets an area of the body that has received a minor injury and turns on pain receptors and swelling and doesn’t allow for them to be turned off. The pain can be heightened by physical or emotional stress. It can move to other areas of the body as further injuries occur. Moving or touching the area is almost intolerable. At this point my Uncle has lost the use of one hand and one leg making it impossible to work and making daily life difficult. My Uncle is addicted to painkillers. With constant use he has found them to be less effective in managing the pain. Recently, he has undergone numerous surgeries to install neurotransmitters in his spine. These wires send out electrical impulses that reach the brain faster than the pain and replace the pain with a tingling sensation. This has been somewhat effective, but has come with complications such as wires that move and…

Technology seems to be making a huge impact on our lives every day. The internet has everything you need to know and more. There’s search engines that can help you do your shopping, there’s games, there’s chat rooms and also recourses to help yourself out in schooling needs. However I do see how it has been taking over our world. In the story “Y2K CHATRM43” Adrein talks about how Joel spends way to much time on the computer and thinks it’s useless, however Joel sees it differently. In this story I agree with Joel, there’s so much to do on the Internet, it can be very helpful for social needs and for schooling needs. Chat groups can be used to help you out in school. Having that can help you out with understanding school work and what not. The internet is also helpful with school because teachers can put the assignments online so we can access them. Online books help out a lot also instead of having to carry that huge text book home you’ve got it all right there in front of you online. Another reason I feel as if the internet is very useful is because there’s videos online that explain school work and certain subjects. If your teacher doesn’t explain the assignment good enough for you, theres online videos that can help you get a better understanding. They say in the future all schooling will be online, all kids will have their own computers to do their work and there won’t be teacher lectures anymore! What will the future bring?…

    Cannabis and Marijuana

Marijuana was first used for medicinal purposes dating back as early as the 1600’s. However, a law was passed in 1930, which banned the substance. Since then we have been fighting a never-ending war on drugs that has estimated to be over a trillion dollar failure, and we have nothing to show for it. There are many different takes on legalizing marijuana nation-wide but some states are not convinced yet. There are two main views on legalizing cannabis. One is the government view, which believes if marijuana was taxed like alcohol and tobacco it could yield close to 50 billion in tax revenue annually. Along with this, legalizing the drug would save the U.S. about $41 billion a year in enforcing the drug laws, and using that for education and health. The other view would be the medicinal use side of it. Proponents of medical marijuana argue that it can be a safe and effective treatment for the symptoms of cancer, AIDS, multiple sclerosis, pain, glaucoma, epilepsy, and other conditions. The government should legalize marijuana for recreational and medical use because it will create tax revenue, help patients, and we will be done fighting an everlasting war.…

The use of marijuana in human civilization dates back to 6000 B.C. In this era, China found that cannabis seeds are edible and later discovered a greater use as textiles. From that time period, humanity has made significant advancement, and has discovered further uses for the marijuana plant. Today, marijuana can be used as medical cannabis to treat ailments that other medication cannot possibly treat. Although medical cannabis has some great benefits, in the many countries it is still illegal to possess and/or use. Thus the legalization of marijuana should be legalized through its promising and beneficial results.…
