Broad St) when I noticed a red Toyota Pick up truck traveling west bound on E
Glen Park Ave with no working tail lights. I conducted a traffic stop and curbed the vehicle at the intersection of Wiggs St and W Glen Park Ave. I contacted the driver Kyle Kyle Techentin (identified by his IL drivers license) and advised him the reason for the stop. While speaking to Kyle, I could smell a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle. I inquired where he and his passenger (Garret Hamton) were coming from. Kyle advised he was coming from
Griffith but could not provide an accurate location.

I located the grinder (a tool used for grinding marijuana into a finer substance) and bowl (a pipe used for smoking marijuana) in the center console of the vehicle. The grinder contained raw marijuana residue and the bowl contained burnt marijuana residue. Also located in the center console was a small glass container that contained residue of a yellow paste like substance that smelled strong of raw marijuana. The container displayed a black and white label on top that read "CONSENTRATE SUPPLY CO." Multiple empty bags and an empty plastic jar were located under the drivers seat that smelled of raw marijuana. On the rear drivers side passenger seat, I located a red hooded sweat shirt. In the hooded sweatshirt, there was a clear Ziplocs bag containing a fair amount of a green leafy substance that smelled of marijuana and then later field tested positive for marijuana by the NARK II (Narcotics Analysis
Reagent Kit). I spoke with Garret who denied any knowledge of any marijuana.
Kyle was then placed in handcuffs (double locked) and advised he will be charged with possession of marijuana. He was transported to the Griffith Pd for processing and then released shortly after on his own personal recognizance
