Marijuana Should Not Be Legallized
There are many different drugs out in the world, but marijuana seems to be a favoured one to talk about. Legalizing the drug is the main topic people discus and there seems to be a lot of people rooting for marijuana to be aloud. See the problem with there arguments is that they all have the same ones. Some say its good for you and that's why doctors prescribe it, some say that its better than cigarettes and they are legal, and this is the one I hear all the time is that people do it any way. United States President Barrack Obama gives his thoughts on the discussion, “the answer is, no, I don't think that is a good strategy to grow our economy," (White House Online Obamas Buzz Killer 573600). I agree with Obama and I have some issues to discus on the situation. Some people actually believe that legalizing marijuana will help boost our economy and it will create more job opportunities. There are endless arguments debating the economical issues, health issues, crime issues , and addiction issues on marijuana. One thing I think people forget when doing drugs is that it effects your work life along with other aspects. Finding jobs can be hard for drug abusers because that’s not what companies look for, and believe me, quite a few people make it very easy to discover the truth. “A study of 1,150 hiring managers by Careerbuilder.com found 26 percent of managers admitted to using search engines such as Google and 12 percent of managers said they used social networking sites like Facebook.com in their hiring process.” (Job Hunters Hire Experts to Clean Up Online Image). It is quite easy to spot out drug users, especially if you know the person well. You can find it on facebook but also by some signs that include dropping grades, loss of interest of something, mood swings, a sudden influence of a new bunch of friends, withdrawal, red eyes, weight loss, fatigue or hyperactivity and many more. If you notice many of these signs in someone they may be under the influence of

Our side has a concession. Marijuana is not an awful drug. Comparatively, it has few bad effects on the human body, and in some cases, admittedly, it can be medically useful or socially acceptable. However, it's not something that should be legalised.…

Drugs have become one of the most controversial topics in the world. Some specific drugs are more frowned upon such as Marijuana. Marijuana is a plant in which its official name is “Cannabis”. Over the years this plant has become increasingly popular to people who don’t usually convert to traditional methods to relieve the stress of a hard day. “The National Drug Threat Assessment states that over 25.8 million individuals 12 years of age and older have smoked marijuana at least once in their life.” The rate has remained the same since 2008. The government labels these statistics as too high as they fight to keep one of the most contentious substances off the market. In 1970, Congress passed The Comprehensive Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Act .…

Marijuana is the growing topic in Americans daily lives; shockingly people are blind to realize that this substance will probably be one of the deadliest drugs in the next decade. “History repeats itself” a wise man once said, and this isn’t the first time or the last time America will use the excuses to make illegal substances that kill. The generations of the 20th century where blind and medically illiterate to the dangers of cigarettes in fact they believed it was health approved. Only a few decades later people started to realize the demons of smoking and plagued America with 5 million deaths a year ever since.…

“Marijuana is an addictive gateway drug” (Drug Policy Alliance Network, 2009). There is no good reason to use it, and it does nothing but ruin lives. These statements are frequently made by people who oppose the use of marijuana for medicinal reasons. Unfortunately, these statements are false. Medical breakthroughs would never be a reality if different risks were not taken. For example, long ago radiation was something that everyone was afraid of, but because a risk was taken, cancer patients now have hope of recovery. Someone somewhere believed that just maybe radiation would work, and it did. Marijuana deserves the same opportunity. Many studies have proven that marijuana does have significant medical benefits. There is no proof that marijuana is physically addictive, and furthermore, it is not physically possible to overdose from marijuana consumption (WAMM Organization, 2008). Despite these facts, over the years society has developed a very negative view of marijuana when in reality this drug has far more benefits than negative attributes.…

Marijuana has been used recreationally as well as medicinally for thousands of years. The earliest evidence of inhalation of marijuana, a small pile of charred cannabis/seeds, was found in Romania and believed to be dated prior to the 3rd millennia BCE. Marijuana use is considered to be beneficial to some, however has been controversially classified as a schedule 1 controlled substance, making it as illegal as heroin, politicians claim it to be more dangerous than cocaine, with little to no factual basis. Based upon my personal use of medical marijuana, I have seen more positive than negative effects, and believe it should be decriminalized so as to ease the pain, suffering, anxiety,…

Marijuana is one of the most commonly used drugs in the world. Though illegal in most states, several states have passed laws allowing the use of marijuana for medical purposes. As of 2013 there are 18 states and DC, who have legalized marijuana for medical use while 10 more states are pending the bill to be passed. Marijuana remains illegal throughout the United States and has not been approved by the FDA for prescription for medicine. In fact, “The FDA and comparable authorities have not approved smoked cannabis for any condition or disease” (Medical). Wherever the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes is allowed, doctors recommend it to treat chronic diseases and conditions such as Crohn’s disease, AIDS, cancer, nausea resulting from chemotherapy, and even ADHD. Doctors have even recommended it for critically ill patients, as a way to relieve some of their pain and improve their overall quality of life. Although the substance can potentially aid in the pain of an ill patient, marijuana remains a controlled substance, making possession and distribution illegal. Medical marijuana is less harmful than most over the counter medication and has the ability of reducing the pain of ailing people.…

In the United States laws are in place to protect the citizens from the government, other citizens, and our own selves. The federal and state government put laws into place to prevent citizens from ingesting harmful contents, such as controlled substances. Every year over four hundred thousand people die from tobacco, another eighty-five thousand from alcohol, and another three hundred sixty-five thousand people die every year from a poor diet. Tobacco, alcohol, and unhealthy eating habits are very legal even though these combined behaviors account for close to a half million deaths in the United States every year. Even though marijuana is used by millions of people every year, there are no accounted deaths for this illegal drug. Is it right for the government to decide what is harmful and what is not and has the government made the right choices regarding what is and not harmful?…

The debate whether or not marijuana should be decriminalized throughout America has been a trending topic for decades now. Marijuana should be decriminalized because it would save the government the time and effort of trying to stop this nation's so-called war on drugs, which evidently has been a failure. The first step to legalization of marijuana is to decriminalize it. Marijuana is undoubtedly the most popular in the United States, the quantity has risen dramatically, the price is cheaper, and more and more people are tempted to start. The illegal drug use and drug related crimes have killed nearly 20,000 Americans annually. The argument whether or not the legalization of Cannabis for medical or recreational use have been an ongoing quarrel…
