#2 Biome Description and Definition
The Marine Biome is made of all the oceans in the world. It holds many diverse species in animals and plants and since it is so enormous, there is some species that have not been discovered yet. The ocean is a mysterious thing because it is different in each part of the world, the climate depends on the location and the location depends on what species are located in that part. Australia is home to the coral reef, where today it is on the verge of dying.
#3 Climate and location
The marine biome is larger than any other biomes because it covers about 70% of the world. It includes the Atlantic Ocean, the Pacific Ocean, the Arctic Ocean, the Southern Ocean, and the Indian Ocean. …show more content…
Phytoplankton, seagrass, seaweed, and coral reefs. Adaptations are important in sea animals and plants because many that are not in the ocean can not hold a small amount of salt, meanwhile the ones in the ocean are surrounded by high doses of salt They are all some plants in the ocean, that play a dominant role in the ecosystem. They are all producers, meaning that other organisms go to them when looking for food. They are the backbones to the whole biome. Seaweed, is located all over the marine biome, we can see it washed up in the beaches along the coast of California. Humans have adapted to it by sng it as food. It is in some types of food that we eat. It does contain high amounts of fiber, which is not always …show more content…
Some arthropods are lobsters, crabs, shrimp, and sea spiders. Examples of cnidarians are jellyfish, hydrozoans, sea anemones, corals, and box jellies. Echinoderms are starfishes, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, sea daisies, and brittle stars. Many of these are animals that give energy to the larger organisms through the food chain or web. They all have adapted to the location that they are found in, like warm or cold water.
#6 Other abiotic factors
An abiotic factor means organisms that help the ecosystem overall. In the marine biome salinity is a factor, which means how salty the ocean is. The animals and plants adapt to the salinity. The sunlight also helps because it gives the plants energy, the process of photosynthesis, and ultimately making food for itself. The temperature, which allows the plants and animals to inhabit a specific part of the ocean. All the abiotic factors are unique to the marine biome.
