The first demographic of the market to target is young adults, ages ranging from upper twenties to mid-thirties in hot climates, whom own their own properties and are constantly busy. This target market is attractive because at this age, young adults have just graduated from college and are consumed with both work and still attempting to spend time with friends. By devoting most of their time trying to make a name for themselves and advancing within their company and the rest of their time trying to maintain a social life, young adults do not have much time left for tedious housekeeping chores. The benefit of young adults using the robotic lawn mower is that they will regularly have more time to devote to their activities, interests, and all around busy lives.…

To start off, machines will naturally take over all of our current jobs at some point. The second wave of automation has started with artificial cognition as its focal point (300). These machines are predicted to consolidate where they’re already established such as in factory warehouses and on the assembly line. Robots will not only take over blue-collar jobs but will work their way towards white-collar work (300). People will automatically assume that robots taking over jobs is a horrible thing, but the reality is they need to.…

Another reason why machines should be filling jobs is the economic benefit it has. The lower cost of machine labor causes a series of events that include lowering competitive prices, increase supply, and in theory, leads to stimulation of the economy. If machines were to replace the common working man, that would average to be 50,000 more dollars to be spread to other workers or fund charitable organizations. Although it appears that job opportunities are declining due to the appearance of new machinery, these machines are only changing the makeup of the job…

Different types are best designed based with each purpose and by functions. Smallest types are best suited for gardens and residential lawns, the larger types are ride-on, self-contained machines are for larger lawns, and the multi-gang or largest mowers pulled by the tractors to function are for municipal parks and golf courts that contains vast grass-expanses. “Farmers across the globe are beginning to throw in their boots and let robots do the dirty work” (Briggs). Technology in this world has grown over the past decades and we have become more and more reliant on our technology. Agribots and drones is the newest and latest thing in this world that could really boots our crop productivity. Thomas L. Friedman, author of The World is Flat, argues that, “As an individual, in a flat world is figuring out how to make yourself as an ‘untouchable’” (280). He then describes ‘untouchables’ as, “People whose jobs cannot be outsourced, digitized or automated” (280). In order to distinguish ourselves from others and be an untouchable we need to acquire unique skills and provide value to our work. Although many…

With new products constantly on the market, robots are often overshadowed, unless a big breakthrough is made. Robot business is a slow business after all. However, the changes being made affect people in ways they don’t even see. In the passage “Robot Farmers” by Felipe Johnson, Johnson tells the reader about what is being done in the agricultural field, a field that affects our whole being. According to the passage, a company named Blue River Technology has created a robot called “The LettuceBot, it does as follows; “The LettuceBot is programmed to analyze fields of lettuce at all stages of development. During the growing season, the robots roam the fields locating weeds and less healthy lettuce heads… they analyze soil for proper nutrients and moisture, alerting the farmer to where attention is needed.” That lettuce is lettuce we eat, and it’s being processed by a robot. Food that is used to keep us up and running is being processed by robots, and it’s still only the beginning of what the fabulous machines can do! Going back to Susan Calvin’s passage, “Robots on the Moon”, at the college Carnegie Mellon, students are working on something called the Astrobiotic Technology project. If completed and fully launched, the robot, which would live on the Moon, would allow people to put on a headset wired to the robot and see exactly what it was seeing in real time. This would allow regular people to see the Moon! That’s something many only thought they’d ever dream of seeing, and it’s happening. We’ve already come so far with robots; however, if we want to reach the dream of flying robo-maids we must reach a bit…

Ryan Kunde is a winemaker whose family’s picture-perfect vineyard nestles in the Sonoma Valley north of San Francisco. But Kunde is not your average farmer. He’s also a drone operator—and he’s not alone. He’s part of the vanguard of farmers who are using what was once military aviation technology to grow better grapes using pictures from the air, part of a broader trend of using sensors and robotics to bring big data to precision agriculture.…

There is a lot of debate around the development of robots and AI machinery and this is especially a growing problem in the agriculture industry. The progression of robots has rocketed in the US since the 20th century. Robots in a way, been enhance jobs, specifically the agricultural jobs. Some say they make them better and more productive, and that may be true to an extent, but robots shouldn't be allowed to take over hard working people's whole jobs when they really need them. Although, the machines/ “robots” brought in such as tractors and bulldozers have enhanced the work of field work, they aren’t as efficient in some areas as humans are and they also cost more money to keep up than it is to pay a human worker. Agriculture jobs have never shied away from using robots and AI machines before in jobs, and with the development of them, they aren't going to anytime soon. So I feel, that robots…

Arguments have gone on regarding the progress of artificial intelligence and questions of whether robots will replace humans in everyday tasks commonly known as the robot revolution. Artificial intelligence is defined as the ability of a digital computer or computer-controlled robot to perform tasks commonly associated with intelligent beings. There are two extreme point of views: one being that robots are a threat to us and our economy and the other that robots are our saviors. Numerous companies have recently been investing their money in these technologies as they are deemed to lead to success in the future. This was shown by an increase in the industrial robot sales by 137 percent compared to the previous decade and more than 229,000 itself in 2014. Currently, these automation devices are on factory assembly lines, Wall Street, and hospital operating rooms. Artificial intelligence is rapidly changing how the world thinks and works. Patrick Marshall’s “Robotics and the Economy” states that “robotics proponents say automation will improve productivity, lower labor costs and make companies stronger and more competitive with overseas rivals”(Marshall). These are all just projections that have yet to…
