In our textbook “Marketing” by: Grewal/Levy - Chapter 8: Section Two (pg. 242), I was shocked to read and learn that IKEA is a store that is open seven days a week. Additionally the text says this is same case all across the globe — except France, that has a law against retailers selling on a Sunday. France accepts Sundays to be a relaxing leisure day to spend with time with family and friends or just to enjoy some alone time. IKEA was ordered $700,000 last week for staying open on Sundays in a Paris suburb. The company says Sundays provide 20 to 25 percent of its weekly revenue in France (usatoday30.usatoday.com). Furthermore, IKEA attempted to challenge the law and be able to work on a Sunday, though I do not know the accurate information
