Marketing Mix Of MBO Cinema
Marketing mix of MCAT Box Office (MBO) Cinema and Lotus Five Star (LFS) Cinema will be analysed in this section, which comprises of product, price, place and promotion (4Ps).
a. Product
MBO Cinema and LFS Cinema provides the facility of e-booking tickets. Customers are able to book their tickets in advance without having to wait for long queues at the ticket counter to save time. Besides selling tickets as their main business, both Cineplex also sell popcorns, soft drinks, other snacks, and exclusive products. Both MBO Cinema and LFS Cinema offers 2D and 3D movies. 3D glasses are being sold separately and can be used again for the subsequent visit.

This Cineplex offers a price of RM9 every Wednesday for any movie at any time. Ticket price for non-blockbusters movies will be RM12 and for blockbusters movies the ticket price will be RM 14 (Brohier, 2014). The prices for the tickets depend on the movies, day and show time of the movie in order to generate profit. For LFS Cinema, children below the height of 90cm can enter the hall for free but they will not be entitled to their own seat. Place
There are 27 outlets of MBO Cinemas in Malaysia. All the MBO Cinema Halls are located at good locations in the city which can gather large number of customers. In Selangor, MBO Cinema is located at level 5 in The Starling Mall near Damansara Uptown is a new outlet. This cinema is chosen here as Damansara Uptown is a well-established commercial hub. There is a 5-storey neighbourhood mall, a serviced residence, UPtown Residences condominium and a 38-storey MSC Status Green Grade-A office building. This location can lure many people to the cinema to have some entertainment as there are many people around that area. They will feel convenience to go to the cinema at this right location.
There are 25 outlets of LFS Cinema in Malaysia. In Kota Samarahan, LFS Cinema is located at second floor in Summer Shopping Mall. This outlet is located in strategic location as Kota Samarahan is an education hub. Many students from UNIMAS and UiTM will visit the Cineplex especially during weekends as an entertainment after a week of lectures.
