Strengths:
The strategy that PepsiCo is currently taking is a major strength in getting the attention of its targeted market which is the young eco-friendly generation for the fallowing.
· Community focused.
· Shows they care about their consumers.
· Makes consumers feel good about buying their product.
Weaknesses:
Even though the new strategy seems to be working thus far there are weakness that could be detrimental to PepsiCo’success. Such as. s · Not spending enough money on mainstream advertisements.
· Focused too much in one market area instead of a broader area.
· Not as much global exposure as Coca- cola.
Threats:
With this new campaign that PepsiCo has launched it is very risky and face a few threats such as.
· Losing market share to other competitors.
· Social media collapsing.
· Main stream advertisers reject them in the future.
Opportunities:
It seems that thus far PepsiCo’strategy is a success; however they still have some opportunities s for improvement. For example:
· They can focus more on a broader target market rather than just the young generation.
· Continue to advertise on mainstream and social media.
· Take this new campaign globally.
Conclusion/Recommendations:
Over all what PepsiCo is doing is working very well for them I recommend they continue their eco-friendly strategy in order to differentiate themselves from the competition. I would like to see them implement their strategy by also advertising on mainstream media in order to make the larger audience that’not on social media aware of the good things that the company is achieving s through its new campaign. In the end I see PepsiCo being very successful in the new direction they are heading.
