3M Company, formerly known as the Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company, is an American multinational corporation based in Maplewood, Minnesota.

With over 76,000 employees, they produce over 55,000 products. Their products can be divided into six categories: display and graphics, health care, safety, electro and communications, industrial and transportation, and consumer and office.
At December 31, 2007, the Company employed about 76,000 people, with 34,000 employed in the United States and 42,000 employed internationally.
3M is a company that makes its products based on the innovation and new ideas. They are well-known by their awesome new ideas for new products which were not produced before.
Most 3M products involve expertise in product development, manufacturing and marketing, and are subject to competition from products manufactured and sold by other technologically oriented companies.

    3M, Inc. was founded in 1902 at the Lake Superior town of Two Harbors, Minn. Five businessmen set out to mine a mineral deposit for grinding-wheel abrasives.
