Question: (1) How do the different types of circuit affect current (I) patterns? (2) How do the types of circuit affect the voltage (I) patterns? Introduction:
Hypotheses:
1). A) I think that for the series circuit, the current from the battery will be equal to the current that passes throught all three resistors.
B) I think that for the parallel circuit, the current from the battery will be equal to the sum of the current throught the three resistors
C) I think that for the complex circuit, that has two light bulbs in series with the battery, the current from the battery will be equal the sum of the current throught the first and the second light bulbs. The current from the battery is also equal to the current throught the first light bulb plus the current throught the third light bulb.
D) I think that for the complex circuit, that has two light bulbs parallel to the battery, the current from the battery will be equal to the current throught the third light bulb because the third light bulb is in series with the battery. The current from the battery is also equal to the sum of the currents throught the first and second resistor.
2) (A) I think that for a series circuit, the voltage across the battery will be the sum of the voltages across the three bulbs.
B) I think that for a parallel circuit, the voltage across the battery will be the sum voltage for all of the three resistors.
C) I think that for the circuit that has two light bulbs in series with the battery, the voltage across the battery will be equal to the voltage across the first light bulb. The voltage across the battery is also equal to the voltage across the second light bulb plus the voltage across the third light bulb.
D) I think that for the circuit that has two light bulbs parallel to the battery, the voltage across the battery will be equal to the first voltage plus the third voltage. This is also equal to the second voltage plus the third voltage.
