MARRIAGE CEREMONY PROPOSAL
Policies and Procedures

Rationale: With 2 in 4 Oakland California residents getting married it is imperative that the local church be there to administer a Christian wedding ceremony. This ceremony will provide a necessary element to the community and act a bridge to witness to unbelievers.

All Welcome

Community Christian Church chapel is available to all persons in the Oakland area. No church membership is needed. Church members have priority when it comes to a scheduling. Community will not perform wedding ceremonies for questionable persons or homosexuals.

Community Christian Church Minister

Persons wishing to be married on campus at Community Church must have a licensed Community Staff member officiate the wedding ceremony. This means ministers and official from other churches or organization can not officiate weddings at the Community Church Chapel.

Ceremony Scheduling

Generally speaking, wedding ceremonies in the Community Church Chapel are subject to the availability of the facility only when programs or activities of the church are not scheduled. However, church members can contact the Wedding Coordinator and asked to be placed on the church’s official calendar and the church will honor the requested wedding date. The church member must make arrangement with the Wedding Coordinator at least 30 days in advance.

Pre-Marital Counseling

Inspired by a Texas law called Twogether for Ever Community Church is requiring all persons who desire to be married in the Community Church Chapel to go through a mandatory pre-marital counseling class. The class is 4 weeks in duration and is held every

I attended a service at North Coast Church. This church is at 2405 North Santa Fe Avenue in Vista, California. North Coast church is an Evangelical Free church with 10000 regular attenders. The history of this community is very interesting. It started in 1976, in the house of Ron and Alice Treibel who started doing weekly Bible studies in their Carlsbad home. Their home became too small for the increasing number of people who wanted to attend, so they started Sunday services. They rented the Carlsbad Women’s club and a few years later they rented the Carlsbad High School Cafeteria. By 1990, their congregation had nearly 800 regular attenders. After many sacrifices, they bought a building in Vista on North Melrose Street that provided future growth. In 2010, they moved to their current location in Vista. They offer a combination of live and video venue worship services to their 10,000 attendees. They offer services at three local campuses in Vista, Carlsbad, and Fallbrook with locations as far away as Hawaii and Okinawa.…

The church I am presently on staff at requires all couples requesting to be married by any staff member go through marriage counseling. This can be done in as little as 3 or 4 sessions which last between 90 minutes and 2 hours. These counseling sessions cover a packet we have put together that covers a variety of issues. We will be discussing some of these within this paper as well as some we will look at adding to the agenda.…

Congregational Way members were known as Independents and the role of the entire congregation in self-governance was a critical part regarding what it meant to belong to a church. For people from Whitney Avenue Congregational Church, the pastor was seen as a teacher, comforter and a leader with defined job description: to preach and teach, to provide pastoral care, to serve as a pastoral leader in all the aspects of the life of church and to work closely with the Diaconate board. People from this church had their own way to conduct business, when things had to be decided, he had a meeting with a small group of elders who set up of policy for the church, but he was surprised that he did not have to vote. Whitney Avenue Congregational Church was seen by other churches as fronting a steady decline both in attendance and membership over the last decade and in the same time a reason for survival, the culture clan in this organizations was mention in ”there is a willingness to be helpful, loving and supportive of one another. “ A decline in the active memberships was noticed when the children of the church members were forced to move from the area because of rising cost of housing.…

On February 28, 2010, I went on a fieldtrip to a Methodist church called Muir’s Chapel United Methodist Church (UMC). The church was founded in 1822 when Jeremiah Dodson, a local preacher from the west, held services under brush arbors and the shade of oak trees on the grounds. The church grounds were located behind where the current building is located at 314 Muir's Chapel Road Greensboro, NC 27410. After his services and charge began, the charge was organized and passed on to the Reverend Thacker Muir. Reverend Muir cut the first log for the first structure known as the “Log Meeting House.” In Reverend Muir’s honor the name was changed to Muir’s Chapel.…

Usually inbreeding is a great tool used to get more of the desired traits in livestock, but when it comes to wild animals the outcome is not as successful. I feel that inbreeding is only harmful to wild animals because unlike domesticated animals wild animals are not in a controlled environment. I believe that there is much more effort put into conserving endangered species in the wild. After all the programs made for red wolves, they still seem to not be at the desired or expected population…

By agreeing to a covenant marriage license, couples will therefore take their marital union more seriously and take more responsibility for their actions. This example serves as a benefit because it is a primary contribution towards the previously stated observed relationship. As adults, we have more obligations and by making commitment one of them that explains why a covenant marriage union would have lower divorce rates when being compared to couples who chose a regular marriage license. Furthermore, with this new reform,…

Another point in the controversy is the blessing of gay and lesbian relationships. Not in all religious denominations but in some, there are priests and pastors who have willingly supervised over ceremonies for gay or lesbian couples, a religious act of blessing for couples wishing to express the sanctity of their commitment within the community of the Christian church. In 2013, several denominations, including the Episcopal Church and the United Church of Christ, had recognized…
