Marshmallow Test

Imagine being in the shoes of a two or three year old and an adult walks you into an empty room and asks you to take a seat. You sit down and you see an empty plate on the table in front of you. You look back at the adult and you see one of her hands holding something. She opens her hand and places a marshmallow in the middle of the plate. You get excited to see it and then the lady gives a command that you do not really appreciate, “Do not eat the marshmallow.” She explains that she is going to leave the room and when she comes back in, if the marshmallow is still on the plate she will give you an additional marshmallow for waiting until she came back. It would be considered a bigger reward over only eating the one marshmallow that is on
Well, one example of the Marshmallow Test in the world is at the beginning of time with the story of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. God told them to not eat the fruit from the tree from knowledge and they will be able to live with God and enjoy the world He created around them. Well, the story ended with Adam and Even eating the fruit from the tree, which gave them instant gratification, but they were not able to live in the garden anymore. So by taking the instant reward, they were not able to enjoy the bigger reward, which shows that they did not have much self control. Another example of the Marshmallow Test in the real world is in the schools around the world. The goal of students are to graduate from school, but some of those students do not make it all the way to the end. Dropout students are what I am talking about. Rather than waiting for the bigger reward, which would be your diploma and higher paying job wages/salaries, they decide to get the instant reward, the lower paying job wages/salaries. They want to be able to start making money as soon as possible and do not feel like finishing school. So they drop out and starts working to make money as soon as
