Alberta graduated from high school and earned a teaching certificate. In The Year 1924 she met Martin Luther King Sr. back then known as Michael King. Alberta and King got married in the early 1926 after she graduated but had to be quite about it due to female teachers weren’t allowed to teach if they were married. She also was very involved into church just like her husband Rev. King Sr. Her parents also played a big role in her life because they were involved in church as well. After her father’s death in 1931 king took the role over as the pastor and began using the name Martin Luther King Jr. Alberta looked up to her mother a lot and took a similar route just like her mother. She works in the church to help out women. She fought for women rights. She felt it was important for women to have equal right just like men. Martin Luther king Jr. role was the head spokesman for the yearlong boycott. He used the tools he learn and used in church to lead the boycott. He came up with the strategy to use non-violence like Mohandas Gandhi’s did. He wanted to follow his footsteps because he admires him as a hero and a great leader. He came up with a master plan that would hurt the state financial by African American avoiding using the bus as transportation system. After a long year of African American avoiding using the local buses the state finally decide to ban segregating on a racial seating. King played a key role in the first ever protest in civil rights. Even thought it took one long year they were able to make change in American for once. Black people were allowed to sit in the front of all the buses just like the white people were
