Mary Maloney Alternate Ending
The bright fluorescent lights of the store shone, Mary Maloney skipped in. How are you Mary? Mary bouncingly asked for peas and potatoes. Leaning over the counter, asking for her vegetables. What a husband he must be sending his wife here for some veges at this time?. With her frozen lamb she would cook for Maloney- what a rush and hassle, her high pitch voice, and bright smile in my face a childlike simplicity. How about afterwards? , yes a cheesecake, I know he likes that. She smiled and left. Thank you, Sam. How lively she was tonight usually tranquil, briskly fading into the distance.
Ring, Ring who’s speaking... Be right over. Quickly getting into the car driving over. Mrs Maloney opened the door. Kneeling down I could see Patrick was dead, congealed blood on the head, this was a harsh murder. Ring, Ring; A murder scene at the residence of Patrick Maloney fellow detective emergency please come. “It must have been a big weapon, as hard as steel”. She was sitting their staring blankly out of this world looking everywhere yet nowhere. The awkwardness building up I took my chance to nip out, into the kitchen and yes her oven was on. The scent filled the room. There was a nice, big, huge leg of lamb, sitting contentedly in the oven. Drawing one’s eyes to it, the whole house smelled of it yet she obviously did not remember. I would say cooked though. This murder scene had occurred in the time of that one lamb cooking. Ha, if it had its old eyes and could see outwards from that little screen maybe it could unravel the murderer. I bet a murderer would smell that, probably stepped into this room. Oh little lamb you must taste of murder, cooking in its midst. I slipped back into the parlour. “About that lamb, yes it’s still

Judge and jury, I beg thee to charge Ms. Maloney with the murder of Patrick Maloney. Why would the perfectly stable Mary Maloney randomly decide to kill her husband? What would cause a perfectly sane woman to do such a heinous crime? As you are aware, Patrick Maloney was a well-respected member of the police force. To all who knew him he was a good man. He never had any enemies, and was very committed to his job. So how did this good man end up dead? Supposedly, Mr. Maloney was alleged of having an affair. However, Mr. Maloney is no longer around to testify to that fact. If Ms. Maloney had heard of this alleged affair, maybe that drove her to murder him. There is sufficient evidence showing that Ms. Maloney was the murderess. Number one, there…

Mary was so happy to see her Patrick, but he wasn’t happy to see her. After downing his glass of scotch, Patrick told his poor, pregnant wife that he was leaving her for Barbra. Not only was Mary not allowed to process the news, but Patrick didn’t call his child a living creature, instead saying it was Mary’s condition. So, Mary proceeded as if it were a typical weeknight, she went to the basement and grabbed Patrick’s favourite: a lamb leg. That’s when something sinister came over Mary.…

In my opinion, Mary Maloney has lost control. She has killed her husband, Patrick Maloney without knowing the true facts which proves she has lost control. This is shown from the beginning when Patrick Maloney told Mary Maloney something that would change their lives forever. “Her first instinct was not to believe any of it, or reject it all. It occurred to her that perhaps he hadn’t even spoken that she herself had imagined the whole thing” (63). This quote shows how Mary Maloney pretended that nothing happened and went on with her day and started cooking. This proves that she was in denial. Later on in the story, Mary Maloney went to get supper made for her husband and herself. She stopped and looked at her…

Food is a necessity and without food we wouldn’t be able to survive. But what happens when that very essential thing we need to survive is not good for us? According to the website Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than one-third of Americans have obesity (Adult Obesity Facts).
