The building that our group choose for history and culture project will be Masjid Wilayah. Masjid Wilayah located at Kuala Lumpur. The mosque's design is a blend of Ottoman and Malay architectural styles, heavily influenced by the Blue Mosque inIstanbul, Turkey. It has 22 domes made from a composite material of glass fibre fabric mixed with epoxy resin to make it durable and light. Concept of this mosque is “mosque in a garden”. They got this concept from another mosque that is masjid Othmaniah in turki.
The interior designs of this mosque are combination of Malay culture and European style. This is one of the big mosque in kuala lumpur. This mosque can . . accommodate 17,000 worshipers at any one time. The area for entire building is approximately 47.000 meters .Including with many amenities, this mosque is the most modern mosques in Malaysia at present. Dome design is a combination of several domes which consists of a main dome, half domes, (half-Domes), a 'vault' and other small domes on its main .”Kubah prayer” space 30 meters in diameter with height reach up to 45 meters above the floor.
Material used in the decoration and internal and external tatahias Territory Mosque is based on wood and stone. Bas focused on components made of wood as can be seen on doors, windows and grille in the wall of the mosque. Frame in the female prayer hall and the pulpit is made of carved wood.
Subtle and unique carvings can be seen on the walls of cement rock finish, while a paved cement ceiling was formed and carved according to the mold. Motif wood carvings that adorn many of the mosque is shaped clouds that are tired of the forms of five kinds of fragrant flowers like flowers stabbed bull (gold flower), Cempaka, ylang, cape, jasmine and green leaves such as ferns.
