Mass Stoichiometry Lab Report
When performing a mass to mass stoichiometry problem you must convert masses to moles because you cannot compare masses to masses since each compound has a different molecular weights; moles can be compared to moles. If the equal amount of these reactants are to react, that is one gram of magnesium and one gram of oxygen. Since magnesium atom weighs more than an oxygen atom meaning you will need more atoms of oxygen for it to weigh the one gram needed for the reaction to take place as per the case under study. As this reaction continues, I will run out of magnesium first because magnesium atoms are not enough as compared to the oxygen atoms in the proposed one gram each specification. Since oxygen is in excess of this reaction and magnesium
