• Imagine that you wake up one morning after a social event and you experience a severe headache, sensitivity to light and loud noises, fatigue, and severe nausea. You decide to go to a physician for a diagnosis and treatment, and she asks you the following questions to elicit your illness narrative. Type your response to each question.

1. What do you call the problem?
I call the problem migraine.

2. What do you think has caused the problem?
Last night, I was at this friend’s 31st birthday party at this club. I consumed so much alcohol because it was a social event.

3. Why do you think it started when it did?
I think it started because of the amount of alcohol I consume and apparently, alcohol is one of the biggest causes of migraine.

1. Acupuncture – I would this this treatment because my aunt who is a doctor told me that acupuncture treatments are effective since there are many cases where they cure back, neck, and hip pains.
2. Massage Therapy- I would do this type of treatment because I have a cousin who did this. He was able to relieve stress and reduce his anxiety because of massage therapy.
3. Psychological Therapy- It can enable patients to understand their feelings and what makes them feel positive, anxious, or depressed.
