Hi everyone,

As you can imagine this is a very important day in my life, and with these lines I would like to express the memories and emotions that come to me as I write.

This letter is written from my heart, and first of all I would like to say that I will never forget all the affection given to me by the Chelsea fans. From the very first day until the last.

The your support and affection I have grown up as a player and I have had an amazing time both on and off the pitch. I will always feel the gratitude towards you. Always. No words are enough to give back all the things I have received.

There has been plenty of good moments: the FA Cup, my first trophy as a Blue; the immense happiness of winning titles for the first time in the club’s history, such as that magical Champions League night in Munich and the Europa League.

On the other hand, I have experienced some complicated situations from a personal point of view, mainly during the last six months. Every message I got through the social media, every nice word you have said to me on the street, and of course, your support in the stadium, has made me feel incredibly proud of the Chelsea fans; you deserve a team like the one you’ve got, with so many fantastic players.

I won’t forget the faith you put in me when I was given the player of the year award the last two seasons. I feel really proud and I will never forget those nights.

Thank you so much for the way you have treated me, you have been unbelievable. I hope you understand that after going through a complicated and, for me, new situation in the last few months, I believe this is the best choice in order to carry on with my football career and to keep enjoying this sport.

"And [thank you] to Jose, for making me a stronger player, because in difficult moments, I have learnt to remain positive and to keep working hard"
- Juan Mata

The image of you is still painted in my mind like a canvas painting hung in an art gallery. You bought so much joy to me that day and I will always remember you because of this. Not to mention that you always lived up to your promise of coming to see me, no matter the circumstances. The sound of your voice during every visit was enough to bring a smile to my face and to cheer me up in a circumstance which this would not have been possible…

I will remember that day as the day that I will use as an example of why the world needs to change. I remember that day as the moment I can remember to allow myself to cry. I will remember that day as the day I realized what the world had become. I will remember that day as the day I became angry at the world for allowing someone to do something of that sort. I will remember that day as the day I realized how hurt others must feel if I couldn't even hold myself together. I will remember that day as the day I took no pictures and didn’t write about my experience immediately after. I will remember that as the day that I took the harshness of reality in, and realized how much I yearned to change it. I will remember that day as the day that I felt more helpless than ever before. I will remember that day as the day that I sat in an empty car for ten minutes trying to control myself. I will remember that day as the day I will never forget. I will remember that day as the day that broke me, in order to make me. I will remember that day as the start of the story I will tell others when they ask why I am doing what I am doing. I will remember that day as the second most memorable day of my life, the second most emotionally painful day of my life. I will remember that day as the day I decided I will not let the world become worse than it is. I will remember that day…

Regardless of the cliques, you always make sure everyone is included in a fair way, even if that means taking a spot you’d rather not have just so that somebody has a spot at all. You make the team fair by ignoring how high of a level someone is on world cup and focusing on who is actually trying to do their best. You’re always putting a smile on someone's face with your down to earth, funny personality. You balance coaching a peewee team, being captain, and high school/college so well that you make it look easy, you prove that it can be managed. You’re always trying to make this team fun and you have no idea how awesome that is for all the girls afraid to speak up.This team is losing a truly amazing teammate, friends, and captain. I hope that next year's seniors will follow in your footsteps in everything that you do. Thank you for being one of the only people who made me feel welcome on my first…

I decided to write about soccer because it is something I love and have passion for. I have been playing soccer all my life since I started walking and haven’t stopped playing. I play soccer here at MCC and I was the leading scorer and I was selected for the 2nd team all-region as a freshmen. I was the only freshmen on the team to get this award. It is a privilege for me to have soccer in my life. I am so thankful that I am able to do something I love. I have an idol. A mentor and someone I look up to in soccer. His name is Lionel Messi. He is known as the best player in the world today, and some people say that he is the best ever. To my opinion, he is the best ever. He has done things in soccer that no one has ever done in the history of the sport. He scored 92 goals in one calendar year. The previous record was 86 goals in the 1980’s. That is an unbelievable record. Messi is only 5’6 but he is very strong for a short guy. He was in born in Rosario, Argentina. He moved to Spain when he was only 7 years old and he has Spanish citizenship. When he became a pro, he decided to come play for his native country.…

Well, despite the first factor that made this match one in a million was that millions of pounds were being raised to go to the countries that were suffering from incurable cancer, one of the things that made this match very special, which would be near the top of my list, was that I got to see all my favourite superstars in one go. Some of football’s greats including Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Eric Cantona, Ronaldinho and last but not least, Maradona were there. For me to see all these players, playing together was just outstanding. The atmosphere was just electric, the fans chanting away and also the mascots who dance after each goal.…
