Road accidents happen on a daily basis and the range and severity of injuries caused by road accidents is enormous. Some injuries can have a short term impact on day to day life and then heal permanently. Others can last for life. Driving while either intoxicated or drunk is dangerous and drivers with high blood alcohol content or concentration (BAC) are at greatly increased risk of car accidents, highway injuries and vehicular deaths.
What causes these accidents?
When a person is intoxicated with alcohol he/she will not have a normal metabolism. Alcohol has a biphasic effect on the body, which is to say that its effects change over time. Initially, alcohol generally produces feelings of relaxation and cheerfulness, but further consumption can lead to blurred vision and coordination problems.
When an individual is intoxicated with alcohol they will have difficulties visualising the objects approaching towards them, and also their reaction to objects will reduce leading to a high metabolic activity in their body leading them to become tired, now here lies the problem where there road accidents
