It's true that math is difficult for some of us but for some, it's so simple. I don't
But this is a mistake that many people make, and is one of the main responsible for the impression that many people have that mathematics is very difficult to learn.…
Even though math is not a strong subject of mine I think math is used in someone’s everyday life. When making a decision math helps me think of the different possibilities and outcomes to make the best possible decision. Math is involved in many of the jobs society has to offer today. Engineering, construction, computer programmer, financial advisor, market analyst, and many more all include the involvement of math.…
In school, we are taught math from the time we start school until the day we graduate. Almost every subject, besides English, has some sort of math involved. As time goes on the math becomes harder and harder to prepare students for life outside of school. One of the main types of math that is heavily taught in high school is Algebra. In fact, it is a requirement for California high school graduates. By learning these math skills in school, it helps students for their daily life and in their later professions.…
We are learning different ways to use math in the health care profession. The math that we use is simple and easy to do. Daily a medical assistant has to convert measurements, calculate dosages, and other mathematical problems that may need to be solved. It is extremely important for a medical assistant to know how to do this math. If it is done incorrectly a patient could be hurt.…
As you can see, math is basically used everyday, without people even realizing it. Humans use math when they shop and in their jobs. Math is a very important concept that people need to understand in order to get a successful job, at least most of the time. Although many people don’t like math, it’s one of the main things looked for on a job application, so it’s very useful to know…
Till Yesterday, We Bore The Rigours Of Maths Silently But Now We Must Rethink Our Goals. It Is Not That We Need To Do Away With Mathematics,…
Personally math has always been both a struggle and a joy of mine. I realized in Jr. High that…
There are two kinds of people in the world…Those who like math homework and those who don’t.…
Nurses have to use a variety of math concepts on their job everyday. Nurses must have a great knowledge of math to ensure that patients get the correct amount of medication, food and proper care.…
We are lucky that we are only waiting to be taught about mathematics. Sometimes, we are even complaining how hard it is. Before, they are working hard to discover different mathematical systems. They don’t even have calculators yet some of their systems are advance.…
It was hard at first because I for one like solving problems with numbers but when it started…
Calculus can be implemented more into the medical field and help out with simple things such as the size determining the size of a tumor and calculating its growth rate. One could even calculating the correct dose of medication too prescribed To patients, so that they have the right ration for their bodies to absorb for the best treatment possible.…
Both doctors and nurses use math every day while providing health care for people around the world. Doctors and nurses use math when they write prescriptions or administer medication. Medical professionals use math when drawing up statistical graphs of epidemics or success rates of treatments. Math applies to x-rays and CAT scans. Numbers provide an abundance of information for medical professionals. It is reassuring for the general public to know that our doctors and nurses have been properly trained by studying mathematics and its uses for medicine. Doctors write prescriptions to their patients for various ailments. Prescriptions indicate a specific medication and dosage amount. Most medications have guidelines for dosage amounts in milligrams per kilogram . Doctors need to figure out how many milligrams of medication each patient will need, depending on their weight. If the weight of a patient is only known in pounds, doctors need to convert that measurement to kilograms and then find the amount of milligrams for the prescription. There is a very big difference between mg/kg and mg/lbs, so it is imperative that doctors understand how to accurately convert weight measurements. Doctors must also determine how long a prescription will last. For example, if a patient needs to take their medication, say one pill, three times a day. Then one month of pills is approximately 90 pills. However, most patients prefer two or three month prescriptions for convenience and insurance purposes. Doctors must be able to do these calculations mentally with speed and accuracy.…
I think that many math topics have meaning and relevancy and are dependent on the path one takes in terms of finding real world application. For example, sports is largely dependent on sports. Decisions are made based regarding playing time as well as strategy based on percentages. In baseball, there is a strong use of math. Managers have to make decisions on which pitchers to start and, especially so in games of importance, those decisions are predicated upon statistical reality. If a pitcher has a better winning percentage in certain conditions, this will help to sway the manager. The calculation of batting average is a mathematical reality. It is not common to hear enthusiasts of the sport say, "He's hitting .400 and will finish above if he goes 3 of 5 today!" These are math concepts integrated in speech and analysis. On a larger level, I am not sure how one can get past the practical applications of math in personal finances. Balancing a checkbook, creating budgets, anticipating costs and profits are all math based and reflect math's use in the real world. In terms advanced concepts such as the Pythagorean Theorem, I have included a couple of links that can help apply the theorem in the realm of map-making, cartography, or in constructing a quicker route home from two different points given…
Math play important role in life. This is why I would like to become a math teacher. The reason this career interesting me is because I have a lot of experience from what I learned in both of my countries. The first is that teaching, like other professions, utilizes a specialized body of knowledge and translated into lessons for the students at a level they can understand. Second, teaching places emphasis on the decision making which I have to plan lessons by minding goals, objectives and furthermore how my teaching to the students will match their life. Student have to know the reason why they learn math whether they realized it or not. For examples, shoppers use math to calculate change, tax, and sales prices. Cooks use math to modify the amount a recipe will make. Vacationers use math to find time of arrivals and departures to plan their trips… Finally, I’m really respecting the views of the students even if these differ from their own personal views, not…
