The title of the book I have been reading in class is Matilda, Matilda was written by Roald Dahl. I decided too read this book for two reasons, firstly the cover stands out also I have heard good things about the book. The story is about a 5-year-old girl, with not so supportive parents and a very mean principal that she needs to put up with however Matilda isn’t a normal child she is a, genius with a very supportive, loving and caring teacher.
This book was a very good book and personally, I love the humor in the book. For example usually a principal understands the children, however in this twisted up story the principal hates the students and rarely wants anything to do with them unless it’s to her benefit!
And she even once said, “Do you really think im going to eat the slop I serve you” This peace of evidence shows that the principal is ruthless! And doesn’t care about the students.
There are several characters that effect Matilda’s childhood both negative and positive. Out of the characters Miss Trunchbull, Miss Honey, Mrs. Phelps,
The Parents and her friends I would chose Miss Honey. She understood the children and cared for them, and was supportive and was one of the few people in Matilda’s Community that was supportive as it says on The chapter “Miss honey was a teacher that understood kids” This sentence clearly states that Miss Honey understands children.
This book is an amazing book however like anything there needs to flaws in this book there are rarely any in this book, except a few like, I thought that the parents were a little too mean to the daughter like when the dad said “Girls aren’t good for anything except shutting up”
This peace of evidence shows that the father doesn’t care for his daughter and underestimates her abilities.
Overall this book by Roald Dahl was a great one for all ages 10-99 years old because of the humor and context and if you like a good book to laugh with, and get attached too this is the book you need!

Matilda is extremely selfless. When her mother contracted the Yellow Fever, Mattie would never leave her side. She was there to clean her and did anything she could do to help. The doctor and her mother however, did not want her to be around and exposed to the danger. She did not agree. “‘No!’ I stamped my foot on the floor. ‘You can’t send me away! I need to be here-I need to help! You can't send me away!’”(page 72). Although she decided to agree with her mom and left, Matilda would rather stay with her mom and die of the fever then go to the safe country. This shows a great deal of ambition and…

I didn’t personally like the book I thought it wasn’t very exciting. Maybe if the book was more exciting or had more twist or turns it would be more enjoyable. It did change my attitude about boys being smarter than girls but even when Calpurnia was talk all science to her brother he had no idea what she was talking about. I probably would not recommend this book unless you're more into having the same idea throughout the whole…

Events such as bullying are things some kids won’t understand. “ Tess got changed for PE in a stall today. What’s she trying to hide? #SheIsAHe” (Pitcher, 189). They make fun of her all the time, calling her a he. They also talk about how her mother gotten a sperm donor, and Jack is not her actual father. “I couldn’t give your mum what she wanted more than anything.” (336). There are perhaps no days of our childhood we lived so fully as those we spent with a favorite book.” This is a famous quote said by Marcel Proust. Books over the centuries have had an influential impact on the lives of many. Arguably, there are none more influential than children’s books. Children’s books contain important life lessons and teach many children the basic values they will hold for the remainder of their lives. Examples of the best range from the well-known Dr. Seuss books, to the always-popular Winnie the Pooh books. Although those are historically popular, The Rainbow Fish, by Marcus Pfister, is one that should be kept in mind. With it’s enticing illustrations, simple and descriptive context, and lesson it portrays, the children’s book The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister should be considered for a spot on the “Top 100 Children’s Books” list.…

“The very controversy caused by Roald Dahl's works for early adolescents has drawn millions of teens to his books and, subsequently, encouraged them to enjoy reading. These young people found in Roald Dahl something that they could not find anywhere else: an author with a view of society that was essentially identical to their own--distrustful of authority figures and firm in the belief that good will triumph. Concerning Dahl's popularity, the librarian of one middle school made this comment during the spring of 1997: "Roald Dahl's books are always on our reorder list, for copies of his books circulate so much they are worn in no time! The titles are always checked out and usually on reserve!" (Crawford). Roald Dahl's view of society, his contempt…

By critical analysis it can become a very complicating task to define a child’s book. There are many fundamental definitive factors that can be found in books that have been written for Children. For instance, if we take the example of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe C.S Lewis 1950 . Universally it is recognised as a book for children.
