1.0 Introduction
Maxis Communications Berhad is a leading telecommunication corporation in Malaysia. In April 1995, Maxis start to provide mobile phone service and their pre-paid brand – Hotlink was published in 1999.(Irfee Chandio (24 October 2009) Background and history of the maxis. Maxis has 95% 2G coverage and 82% 3G coverage and they are also the first to launched 4G LTE in Malaysia. In addition, they would likely to collaborate with other organization to improve their services for clients. In July 2012, Maxis has handled a protocol with the RED tone International Bhd to fast-track the roll-out of ultra-high speed 4G LTE networks within the nation. Their clients will have the opportunity to approach the highest broadband speeds, up to 150 Mbps, with the latest 4G LTE technology in Malaysia through this combined spectrum.
The revenue of Maxis in 2012 reached RM8.96 billion and their profit before tax is RM2.57 billion according to the annual report published in 2012. Maxis’ growth and strong track record of enabling improve, good customer services and value to stakeholders have won the company numerous awards such as Finance Asia: Asia’s Best Companies 2012 Malaysia awards for Overall Best Managed Company. Maxis was likewise recorded in the main three brand in Malaysia’s Most Valuable Brands 2012 awards and the best brand in telecommunications in “The Brand Laureate” awards.

Bhd. DBA Digi is a mobile service supplier in Malaysia. It is owned in multitude by Telenor ASA of Norway with 49%. Digi develop into the first telecommunication in Malaysia to launch and operate a fully digital cellular network on 24 May 1995. Digi is listed on the main board of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad which the symbol andcode is DIGI (6947)
The dialing prefixes of Digi include "010", "0143", "016", "0146" and "0149". Digi is free to members who swap from their old mobile service provider over to Digi. Digi provides a variety of mobile communication services which include voice under their prepaid plans & postpaid plans, SMS, data plans and services, WAP services, international calling card and international roaming.
DiGi primarily uses the 1800 MHz band for GSM with the network code of 502-16. Digi also is the first to offer GPRS (2.5G) and later EDGE (2.75G) in Malaysia on 14 May 2004. Digi had started a event called 'Happy'. It was handling by Digi staffs to do this special project and provide a new brand of Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNO) called Happy Prepaid. In addition, Digi is the first telecommunications company in Malaysia to introduce Mobile Number Selection service which was executed in 2008. This service allow the member to choose their own number instead of following the traditional way of purchasing a new SIM that has been pre-assign with fix mobile

    Packet One Networks is a wireless telecommunications company expanding throughout Malaysia to target both consumer and business users. Registered in February, 2002 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Green Packet Bhd., Packet One (P1) only started doing business following its acquisition of one of Malaysia’s four WiMAX licenses in March, 2007. The license granted P1 access to 30Mhz of spectrum in the 2.3Ghz band. Following its spectrum acquisition, P1 moved quickly to form a series of strategic alliances aimed at getting its WiMAX network off the ground as quickly and efficiently as possible. In January 2008 P1 announced that it would award its network build-out to Alcatel-Lucent, which agreed to provide a complete end-to-end WiMAX broadband solution in a deal valued at more than RM220 million (approximately USD 71 million). During this time P1 also announced partnerships with Oracle Systems, EMC Corporation, and Firberail, as well as a RM50 million investment from Intel. By August, 2008 P1 finished conducting its end-user trials and became the first WiMAX Operator to launch a commercial network, and was even able to announce early subscribers several weeks before actual launch. Commercial launch began in selected areas in and around Kuala Lumpur, and by the end of 2008 had expanded into the Southern region of Johor. P1 states that it is on track to cover 30% of the country by the first half of 2009, 40% by 2010 and 60% by 2012. Its total investment on WiMAX for the next 5 years is expected to be RM1 billion, and within the next 10 years P1 expects to have 100% coverage over Malaysia.…
