Rick Riordan is the author of the book The Maze of Bones. He has written many books in the fantasy genre, and the adventure genre such as Percy Jackson and The Olympians and The Sea of Monsters, which made into movies. He as won many awards such as Author of The Year for the book The Lost Hero.
The Maze of Bones written by Rick Riordan is a fiction, mystery, and adventure book. The book targeted a young adult audience, and this book is meant to entertain the reader. The title is interesting and it applies to the book because it names one of the important clues in the mystery to where the treasure is.
One of the major themes of this book is good versus evil. Amy and Dan learn that after their Grandmother, Grace Cahill, dies that she was hiding something from them, and their whole family. Amy and Dan are the only characters with good intentions. While

Once everyone was in the great hall, including Amy and Dan, he told them about her will. He told them about how their family, the Cahills, was the most important family in history.
They also had some of them most powerful people in history in their family, including Benjamin Franklin and Mozart. Grace left something special for all the people in that room. They could either take one million dollars or one clue out of 39 that could lead them to the most powerful treasure in history. The hunt for the clues will be dangerous and life-threatening. Most of the people took the money and ran, but once the room cleared there were 10 people who would accept the challenge. Another one of the major themes in this book is betrayal.For example, the relatives of Dan and Amy are greedy and will stop at nothing to get the treasure, even if it means killing each other for it. They head out on the journey not knowing if they will come back alive, or in caskets. All they know is they have to do this, for
