Management decision problem.
A Management Decision Problem is whereby when a situation arises, and management of a company needs to make a decision which requires. It relates with a problem that is faced by the management or decision maker. It asks what the decision maker needs to do. The management decision problem is action oriented. It is concerned with the possible actions the decision maker can take. When the work is been done by an outsider it is very important that discussion is held with the business manager.
Discussion with subject experts.
The next step is considered as the a discussion with subject matter experts . which involves getting the problem in the right perspective through discussions with industry and subject experts. A subject-matter expert (SME) or domain expert is a person who is an expert in a particular area or topic. They could be found in both within and outside the company.
Review of existing literature
Once the data has been collected, the researcher must write it down and clearly show how this is linked to the research topic under study. The logical and theoretical framework developed on the basis of past studies should be able to provide the foundation for problem statement.
Organizational analysis
An Organizational Analysis is a process by which an organization's systems, capacity, and functionality are assessed in order to increase its efficiency, performance, and output. With the use of various models and theories, an Organizational Analysis aims to understand behavioral relationships, structure, and technology. Another significant source for deriving the research problem is the industry and organizational data.
