MBA Program Introduction Essay
I started my career path by following my instincts which guided me through what I do best: solving technical problems. For more than twenty years since I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, I have been employed by various high tech companies, and participated in a wide spectrum of projects, which involved all aspects of engineering from nanotechnologies to high power radar communication, from micron size electronics to multi-millions worldwide e-commerce software application. I have seen it all, yet I still feel like I am missing a link; a link that would connect the gap between technology and reality; a link that would guide me to apply my experience and knowledge to provide solutions that are effective, simple and not blindsided by all the cutting edge technology. That link to me is the ability to see the business side of the equation and the MBA program from Concordia University will be the right step for me to build that missing link.
Pursuing the MBA degree would be milestone for me and my family. My parents are retired teachers and have started many unsuccessful business ventures during their careers. My sisters, a Chemical Engineer and an Architect, have both quit their jobs to pursue private businesses and were able to achieve some levels of success. However, none have taken the next step of obtaining the MBA degree, and through all the discussions between us, they all are very supportive of me to pursue this graduate degree. And even though it is not my desire to venture out and start a business anytime soon, a MBA degree will enable me to be ready when the time comes.
Recall back the last few years at my current job, in which I hold a position of Application Technical Lead. My normal daily responsibilities include develop and resolve product related issues (software bugs), provide technical assessment for product change requests, mentor junior software engineers on best practices and work

Each individual has his own reason for pursuing a graduate degree. Professionally, a graduate degree shows that the person has the motivation, ambition, and dedication to improve and thus strive to obtain a position in which he/she can apply and expand his knowledge base. Many perceive a graduate degree as a status symbol, an opportunity for advancement, or even a cause for more money. The choice to seek additional education after investing four years in an undergraduate degree shows commitment to learning and recognition of self-worth. I chose to pursue a Master’s degree for two reasons; to obtain a higher learning level of education and to eventually increase my annual salary. The first, and most important, reason for my wanting to pursue a Master’s degree is to obtain a higher education level. I believe that obtaining a graduate degree will definitely make me more marketable in the corporate world. My goal is to broaden my horizon beyond the technical world, unlock career aspirations otherwise blocked, and enhance problem-solving and decision-making skills. I am hoping that by pursuing a degree of higher learning, I will pick up enhanced skills that will enable me to be more of an asset to a team once I enter the workforce. I truly believe that without the knowledge, strength and…

One of the main reason Diversion programs were created is because many people believe juveniles deserve a second chance. These programs are generally created by state legislature and signed into law. Most states realize the many juveniles charged with low level offenses, and particularly first time offenders do not need to go through a regular court process. (Diversion Programs) This often saves the court system money and saves the juvenile from starting a criminal record.…

The concept of striving farther and higher coincides with my personal morals and beliefs along with my goals and aspirations I wish to achieve in life and here at Howard.
