Food is becoming unaffordable and McCulture is making that more expensive food less healthy for one to consume. It is argued to be unfair that one has to pay more for food that is now proven to be unhealthy and cause damage to ones well being, why should someone spend too much money on food that is going to bring harm to their health and bodies? McCulture says that it is okay for people to spend the necessary money on unhealthy food. McCulture does not let their negative aspects be known to their consumers. McGlobalization is taking from foreigners by not only taking away from their traditions but also by obligating them to pay more for their food. Mexico City citizens have already shown to be upset with the outcomes of McGlobalization they are not happy about the fact that they are now being forced to pay more for their meals. It is controlling by limiting peoples options and decisions when making a purchase. An Example of McCulture controlling Globalization is the way society eats. When hungry one will much rather purchase a quick and easy meal from a fast food restaurant than cook a meal at home. McCulture has provided many fast food restaurants in a single area to assure business. When one sees so many food options they can easily purchase and eat, cooking is automatically not an option. Professor of sociology at the University of Maryland, George Ritzer is interviewed about his thoughts on McCulture he states, “I mean the fundamental problem with McDonaldised systems is that it’s other people in the system structuring our lives for us, rather than us structuring our lives for ourselves.
