a. Brief description of the company (one paragraph, briefly summarizing the company’s business) McDonald’s is one of the most famous and well-known fast-food companies in the world. They operate more than 35,000 local restaurants located in more than 100 countries and six continents. McDonald’s brand mission is to be their customer favorite place to eat and drink. The company focus on a strategy called “Plan to win” which is built on exceptional customer service-People, product, promotion, price and place.

b. Company history (origin, major developments, etc.)
In 1940 Dick and Mac Donald open McDonalds Bar-B-Q on 14th street in San Bernardino, California. It was a drive-in restaurant that offered a large menu and car hop service. In 1948 McDonalds was founded by Dick and Mac McDonald. The original mascot of McDonalds was a chef with a hat on a hamburger shaped head known as “speedy” it was later replaced by Ronald McDonald. May 4, 1961, McDonald filed its first U.S trademark. September 13, 1961, McDonalds filed a logo trademark on the double arch “M” symbol. In 1962 the trademark filed for a single arch shape. The corporation recognize its founding franchised by Ray Kroc opened his first McDonald’s 1955 in Plaines, Illinois. Kroc would soon purchase the McDonalds brothers’ company this led to worldwide expansion. In 1965 McDonalds was listed on the public stock market. Due to McDonald’s expansion including the international market, the company is an icon of globalization and to some American way of life. By the year 1949 French fries substituted potato chip and milk shakes were introduced. The company made $366. 12 on the first day of business. By the year 1965 there were over 700 McDonalds restaurant throughout the U.S. By the year 1958 McDonald’s sold its millionth hamburger. By 1954 the
