“Oh No” I can't do this.” I thought nervously. Crack! the gun went off, I took off running and tripped. I got back up right away. “Wow what a great start to the mcquaid invitational.” I thought to myself sneeringly. I round the first corner a big bright orange beam. I stuck with the pack as I went up the hill. When i got to the top of the hill I was gasping for air from the sprint in the beginning of the race and this hill, but when i got to the top a went around a swing set I got a burst of energy and sprinted down the hill passing a bunch of people.

I was astounded that I was not dying right know but I felt like I just chugged two monster energy drinks. I flew Up the Hill and dashed across the straight away astounded by the amount of energy I had.. I got down the otherside of the hill and kept going I ran i kept running and bounded up a smaller hill I ran and saw it the final turn before the finish I kept going knowing that I was almost done I turned the corner and saw the finish I heard all the people saying go Paul you've got this so I kept going and I took that final step and crossed the finish line. As I crossed the finish line I saw the giant clock said 13 minutes and fifteen seconds not bad For running 1.62 mile I thought I would do a lot worse but I guess I should always believe in myself . As I walked over to a bench to the bench I realized that I felt really sick.
Once I got the timer off I started To walk back to our team's tent. When I got there I went to check My score and as I scrolled down to find my score I noticed something very weird. Then It hit me like a brick wall and a semi truck All those strangers Cheering for Paul were not cheering for me they were cheering for the Paul four places behind
