–
MDMP is a detailed, deliberate, and sequential process used when adequate planning time and sufficient staff support are available to thoroughly examine numerous friendly and enemy courses of action
– It produces the greatest integration, coordination, and synchronization for an operation and minimizes the risk of overlooking a critical aspect of the operation
– It results in a detailed operation order or operation plan
• The disadvantage of using the complete MDMP is that it is a time consuming process
MDMP
• MDMP is the process of analyzing an order, developing and comparing Courses of Action
(COA), selecting one, and producing an order.
• Participants in the process are typically the
Commander, CofS, OPS SGM, selected Staff personnel from G/S-2, G/S-3, Protection Cell,
Sustainment Cell, and Plans Cells where appropriate. • Goal is to produce a functional order based on
(METT-TC).
