Table tennis is a game that is played with wooden paddles, a net, and a cellulite ball, usually played in the basement with an opponent, with the distinctive noises when a ball was struck. It is a game that is quite similar to lawn tennis. It is played by two or four players. Like in lawn, the table has a net, which divides the playing area into two portions. “Ping-pong” is the trademark name often called to the name of table tennis. When free rein at private-enterprise levels, this sport demands extremum levels of agility, coordination, and stamina, as well as split-second regulation and expert tactical maneuvering.
In China, it’s their national sport, which is a source of pride. In the Philippines, we have so many competitive players and Filipino enthusiasts but there is a big difference. First, the government is not supporting table tennis, not like in our neighboring countries; the uniforms, the tables, rackets, balls, nets and all needed equipments in table tennis is provided and everywhere. Second, there are so many good players in the Philippines but the facilities of others are very nice compare here. Third, some sports and other people who does not really have a big background in this sport is just underestimating; so the chances of getting the attention of government is getting lower.
Since I’ve been into table tennis, I’ve been addicted to it. I started playing when I was in first year high school and I learned to love it. I like to be aggresive. It is so much fun because you have to move when you play and you hit and you also pick up balls. Table tennis is a very physical game. It keeps you healthy as well as safe. When you play table tennis, you can not easily play when you are grown up unlike badminton, lawn tennis; in table tennis, it’s very hard. I’ve been in tournaments for the straight 5 years and most of my coaches say that I play a mental game like I think and play. Everything actually moves; physically and mentally. There’s a different role between mental and physical. Physical is when you try to keep hitting the ball. Mental is like when you play a smart game; you don’t just hit all the balls but you think what to play depending on your opponent. Before winning, first is having fun and then you need to have passion in it, then you need to fight, and then after fighting you could win. In my hometown, the “City of Seven Lakes”, we dominate table tennis community. People here have the passion, the heart and the commitment. If you don’t have the heart and the commitment, you won’t even have the time to devote yourself to it. And yes, it’s like a passion to me and I really love it.

1 In the 21st century, some environmental variables that may affect Prince Sports include ever-changing technology and the deployment and use of social media amongst all age groups. The use of social media is a marketing powerhouse. Microsoft and Facebook sell consumer information to companies who then in turn can fine tune their marketing strategies. They can also reach a larger audience, and more specifically, a younger one, ensuring they can have long-term customers. The constant changing of technology has its drawbacks too. The market is saturated with cheap materials and due to the rise of the popularity of the sport, demand is increasing. With the cost of everything rising, marketing for a cost effective yet competitive product is key.2 Prince sponsors tennis training camps for kids and adults. They are interested in continuing the rise of tennis in the US. By fostering training and awareness, young consumers who might not have aware of the joys of tennis have a fun and educational experience. Prince also holds “demo events” where consumers can gain awareness for the company and try out their new products themselves.3 Prince designs and markets their racquets to meet the needs of three distinct styles of players. They also meet the need for three levels of players from pros on television, recreational players and juniors or children. To reach recreational players, they realize that not everyone is a pro, and that everyone has a different swing. They create their products with this in mind. Demo racquets and promotional material is placed in stores where the recreational player may shop. This also can pertain to the junior players. Another all-encompassing trait that Prince practices is utilizing the combination of price point, technology and performance. Recreational players are typically older, with disposable income. They can afford better racquets, and may keep the same one for a little longer than the...…

The Reconstruction Era had caused many problems among the black people, the south, and the North (The Union). During this Reconstruction Era the South had found any possible loopholes that they could use to take black people’s rights away such as needing to do a literature test before voting, and used their power to scare and threaten black people into doing what they had wanted. To what length did the south destroy Reconstruction? The south had killed Reconstruction by using any and all loopholes they found, and abused power knowing they wouldn’t have consequences. To be successful in the game of tennis is dependent on the player’s technique as well as biomechanics which play a vital role in stroke production. A fundamental mechanical structure is founds in all tennis strokes.11 The backswing provides the distance. Tennis players need to be able to control the direction of the racket and the timing of the entire movement. The skill level of the tennis player depends largely on the mechanics of their forehand swing. The force of impact is determined by the racket speed at the moment it comes in contact with the ball. When maximum distance is used for accelerating that is when maximum velocity can be obtained. Body weight support is necessary for the forehand drive because shifting weight when striking the ball will increase ground reaction force to the body and the ball. A player wants to be balanced to direct power and energy without losing control. Forward momentum will carry the racket through the ball after contact. The follow through helps prepare the player for the next stroke. It should be long and the arm and racket should wrap around the body. It dissipates kinetic energy off the racket and that is when the player wants to arrive at the right point and balanced to be ready for the next stroke and to be able to play the ball back. The player’s body must absorb the remaining energy of the racket and the…

But then he turned 7 and my father took him with this lady that was teaching at the courts he was playing at and that was the start of my brothers career. Tennis is a highly competitive sport with participation in over 200 countries throughout the world. It is a non-contact racquet sport which requires aspects such as strength, power, speed, coordination and agility. Like any sport, tennis places specific demands on the body which can predispose any player to injury. These demands placed on the body result in injuries specific to the game. It is said by Pluim et al (2006) that although many injuries that occur in tennis are common in other sports, tennis has its own unique profile of injuries. (1) Injuries such as lateral ankle sprains, calf strains, lower back pain, tennis toe, shoulder impingement, lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow), ulnar collateral ligament tears and wrist strains are all…

Playing tennis on a team is a lot different than what people actually interpret from watching professional tennis on TV. Even though they may seem pretty complicated and intense, the rules of tennis are quite simple. Before being apart of this discourse community, I first thought tennis was just a silly game that two people played by hitting a ball back and forth with a racket, but I soon learned that this sport was much more and that it took a lot more skill. Learning how to play the game well requires a player to take in a lot of information of how tennis works and how to use your skills to your benefit.…

“Tennis is lonely. There is nowhere to hide when things go wrong. No dugout, no sideline, no neutral corner. It’s just you out there naked” (57). This quote may mean nothing to people who don’t play tennis, but for tennis players, it defines the way it feels on the tennis court. “It's no accident, I think, that tennis uses the language of life. Advantage, service, fault, break, love, the basic elements of tennis are those of everyday existence, because every match is a life in miniature. Even the structure of tennis, the way the pieces fit inside one another like Russian nesting dolls, mimics the structure of our days. Points become games become sets become tournaments, and it's all so tightly connected that any point can become the turning point. It reminds me of the way seconds become minutes become hours, and any hour can be our finest. Or darkest. It's our choice.” This is one of Andre’s most meaningful quotes from the book. Almost everyone who reads the quote, can learn a lot about life. Andre may be writing about tennis, but there are so countless universal themes that apply to…
