Some people may confuse it with culture appreciation and say appropriating another culture is not a social issue, but it is a social issue. Culture appropriation is an issue because it strips culture of their identity, some celebrities have been appropriating other cultures and has been praised for it, and a poll that survey people said it was a social issue. Culture appropriation strips culture of their identity. When culture appropriation happens it takes away the meaning and symbolism of the traditional piece that is being appropriated. Imagine what these cultures are going through. Imagine being in their place. Imagine being humiliated and made fun of because you wear something that is a part of your culture, but someone else gets called pretty and get praised when they wear the exact same thing you’re wearing even though they don’t know the meaning of the piece
Cultural appropriation is insulting to cultures and it takes away their identities. If cultural appropriation does continue, there is no way we would be able to distinguish who is who in society. People would rob these culture of their identity until they don't have an identity anymore and their culture would be loss and it’s sad because what society is teaching is that people should be themselves and be original but they create trends that are conventional.
