“Our Town”
We live in a place where people do the same stuffs each and every day. We wake up, go to school or go to work. We start the day and call it a productive one if we felt the stress that it gave us. We see the usual people: the man who sits in front of his house reading the newspaper, or the girl who waters her plants, and the vehicles roaming to get passengers to call it a day. In the place you’ve lived and loved for years, sometimes, when the right time comes, secrets will come out and will make you regret of believing that you were in the perfect place to live. These truths you’ll know will let you wake up from reality. But sometimes, this “time” you call is too late to make a change.
It was hard for me to read the whole story of “Our Town”, but the summary of it helped me a lot to understand and appreciate the meaning of the story. When we are given a chance to stand up, we shouldn’t waste any part of it. We should take it seriously and appreciate that wholeheartedly. Because this chance is the sign for us that every day we wake up, we should make the best out of it. We shouldn’t regret it, but make good memories out of it. Never make burdens to your life, and if you would, it’s too late to change it and nothing is left for you but to feel the guilt. Like what happened in the story, when the worst part of your life comes—death. Death will be the hardest part for people to accept. But what happened in the story, it was like she chose to return and rest for her life than to return to life. She realized that people really didn’t value the meaning of life not what she thought when her heart was still beating. Heartbeats during her life told her that this is what she wants and looks for. But no, she pictured herself again when she was alive to the people in the town. She was sad for what she felt and regretted almost all of it.
For me, people should really appreciate the things given to them. They should wake up, and look for the things
