Low-Key When a person tells somebody to keep something “low-key,” most people will assume that just means to keep it a secret or not let it get out. It could be used when somebody invites another person to a party. The person could say “there is a low-key party tonight, you want to come to it?” Another situation where it could be used is when someone is talking negatively about another individual. They could say “I low-key don’t even want Michael to go to the movies with us tomorrow night.” The usage of “low-key” has significantly changed from being a photography term to a new slang word in today’s generation. Coming towards a conclusion, we can see that “low-key” technically means to reduce the intensity of something or to understate it. When it is used in a conversation, most people will interpret it as keeping something a secret. To me, it means to keep something off that radar and to not tell something to people that do not need to hear
