From upholding patients’ privacy while working with their records to administering safe quality care, nurses remain committed to their work and want to be a part of the implementation of all parts of the MU law since it affects them directly in their line of work. Nurses are able to use electronic documentation through the MU law to care for their patients in a safe manner. Kelley, Brandon, & Docherty (2011) found that 81% of the nurses (n = 100) believed that electronic documentation helped with the provision of patient care, with 75% of the nurses feeling confident that documentation improved as a result of the electronic format. Nurses also believe that electronic documentation have made their work faster and made it possible to spend time with their patients. Taking into consideration the criteria of stages 1 and two of the present MU law mentioned above, no further recommendation is required. The field of nursing has come a long way as far as technology. Technologies that are possible now were just a dream a few years ago. The field of nursing will continue to evolve as technology becomes more
