He fought for us and did everything in his power to stand up for our rights. As the state field secretary, Evers traveled around Mississippi a lot. He enrolled new members for the NAACP and organized voter-registration efforts. Evers also was the leader in many demonstrations and economic boycotts of white-owned companies that were part of the discrimination act. He fought racial injustices in many ways, including how the state and local legal system dealt with crimes against African Americans. Much like Evers, I also had to conquer many challenges and I am still going through challenges day by day to reach my goal. Medgar Evers was a hard working black man who fought for his community to make things better. He went through many different phases throughout his career but managed to get things completed even when being threatened and people trying to negatively influence him. He was belittled and disrespected just for trying to help his fellow black people and from this is impelled him to work even harder. Unfortunately, Medgar Evers was assassinated to due to the high profile he had and because he was actually making a change for our racial group. He lives to be one of the considerable civil rights activist to ever live. Also like Escalante, I am motivated by the desire to push blacks beyond the perceived limit, to show them that they matter in this world and without us, whites wouldn't have as many things as they do now. I like to encourage people that you can do anything you put your mind to no matter how grueling the situation is just as Evers
