No one owns your identity other than you, meaning even though you have your parent's DNA and looks you can still choose to express yourself in a different way. The way you choose your identity is the way you choose to express yourself by the way you talk, dress, and act. So for example, your parents can influence you to not wear black because they want you to wear colors that make you seem cheerful and happy, however if you like black you would still wear it ignoring what others have to say, that is because it is your own choice.
