Abstract
This paper explores the impact of media piracy to the market after the banning in Brunei Darussalam in relation with academic literatures in economics.
We have chosen to focus on the study of the impact of piracy because of the wide availability of pirated media following the recent piracy law. We conclude that, while some papers in the literature states thatlaw of piracy may help promote original media sales, however based on our findings we found out that it brings a negative impact on original media sales as pirated virtual Medias are not restricted and readily available due to technological advancement.
