Our own country, a democratic nation, uses media framing to influence global politics and public opinion. This can be seen in Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton’s differing economic and employment plans during last year’s election. Clinton took a more social initiative, similar to that of President Roosevelt during the Great Depression; such as, creating programs that increase research and innovation to develop new industries. On the other hand, Donald Trump took on an administrative position, and emphasized putting business men, those that know how to create jobs, in place of officials. Depending on the position they wanted to portray, the media would cover the negative aspects of either Clinton or Trump’s initiatives.
