Medical Simulation Center Case Study

Medical simulation Center trains healthcare staffs to practice their skills in a safe environment. Despite of being a training simulation center, the Sim Center is also considered as a regular workplace environment. Therefore, safety standards should be set to prevent any employees and learners being injured. Most of the time, Sim Centers develop physical safety protocols after an adverse event had been occurring at their or another Sim Center. As simulation champion, we need to incorporate the physical safety protocol and procedure for all employees and students. Since they might not be aware of potential dangers that can happen in this environment. Reminding them how to be safe at the Sim Center will potentially reduce or eliminate the number
of injuries that can occur. For instance, fall risk, sharp equipment, ergonomic risk and so one. Depending on their injury the employees or participants might not be able to return to work for a long period of time. That could cost the Sim Center fortune
The objectives of the workshop are to explain
1. Discuss the importance to emphasize on Sim Educator, which are (facilitator, sim specialist, and standardized patient) and learners safety.
2. Identify way to prevent real injuries before and during a simulation encounter at the Sim Center. 3. Discuss & Review emergency respond plan
