Medicare Advantage

The article I found is about Medicare Advantage and its main points are basically about how Obama and some democrats think that it is waste of money to have. But not everyone agrees with them. A Medicare Advantage Plan is a type of Medicare health plan offered by a private company that contracts with Medicare to provide you with all your Part A and Part B benefits. Medicare Advantage Plans include Health Maintenance Organizations, Preferred Provider Organizations, Private Fee-for-Service Plans, Special Needs Plans, and Medicare Medical Savings Account Plans. The Medicare Advantage program also allows beneficiaries to switch health plans during an annual open enrollment period each November.
This article was written at this time because there is a big debate and discussion over healthcare and Obama-care. And Medicare advantage is a big part of this discussion. There are three main types of Medicare Advantage Plans: Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) plans, Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plans, and Private Fee-for-Service (PFFS) plans. Less common options include HMO Point-of-Service plans, Medical Savings Accounts, and Special Needs plans. The Medicare Advantage plan covers Medicare Advantage Plans must cover all of the medical and hospital services that Original Medicare covers, except hospice care (Original Medicare covers hospice care even if you 're in a Medicare Advantage Plan). All types of Medicare Advantage Plans cover emergency and urgent care. Medicare Advantage Plans may offer extra coverage, such as vision, hearing, dental, or health and wellness programs. Many plans include Medicare prescription drug coverage (Part D). If the plan provides prescription drug coverage, it is called a Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug (MAPD) plan.
In the article Obama argues that the Medicare Advantage plans now cost the government about 14% more per person than does regular Medicare,

I found an article titled “Obamacare will cost less than thought”. According to the article updated projections from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) national healthcare will cost $506 billion for the next five fiscal years. Down 29% from the last projected amount 5 years ago. The article states that this decline is due to The Supreme Court's ruling that allowed states to decide whether to expand Medicaid, the slow growth of health care spending, and Obamacare enrollment have ramped up slower than anticipated (Luhby, 2015).…

In her article “What is ObamaCare”, Kimberly Amadeo (2013) proclaims how the economy is changing, how the changes affect this country and steps you need to take now so it will be beneficial in the near future. She addresses the different individual categories that an American or American family could be placed in when selecting coverage. Amadeo feels that the cost of ObamaCare could be considered as both a pro and a con. She feels that the calculation depends on the assumptions used. Estimates ranging from $1.76 trillion added to the debt down to $143 billion subtracted from the debt are all correct according to her research (Amadeo2013).…

ObamaCare or the Patient Protection Affordable Act established in 2010 has been booming since. It was estimated that ObamaCare would cost approximately from 900 billion to 1.76 trillion more over debt. This program was established to give patients with low income a better advantage in picking out an insurance. The plan costs so much because it adds money to hospitals and different establishments which require that to effectively run the plan. The true purpose of this plan was to bring the costs of medicaid and medicare down for each patient so they can have healthcare coverage, but the patient must stick with the plan for 9 months otherwise the patient will be taxed. The discounts honored are: 50% discount in brand name drugs and until 14% in generic drugs. It also indicates that the average of savings is of $600, for those who fell into the Medicare gap. With this law, it is expected that by 2020 the Medicare gap will no longer exist and seniors will be fully covered. It is important to mention than original benefits from Medicare coverage have not been eliminated or reduced with this act.…
