Medicine Werx – Artist-Driven and Sustainable Eyewear
We want to change the way the world sees things, so we created Medicine Werx, a visionary eyewear company with a conscience. Our wooden glasses are works of art - with a conscious. By using the most eco-friendly materials to make our shades, we are creating a more sustainable future. Our signature shades and our philosophy appeal to a unique demographic - millennials who attend music festivals as a lifestyle. They’re in love with our shades for their trendy designs and appealing message.
The Destructive Nature of the Apparel Industry
Until recently, shoppers haven’t thought much about the impact of what they …show more content…
consume. As a result, the apparel industry has had a negative environmental and social impact on our planet.
Luckily, customers are becoming more interested in creating a better world through purchasing products with a conscience. There’s just one problem. Many companies still aren’t providing there’s product.
Where can customers find the trendy and sustainable products they crave?
The answer is simple. Medicine Werx.
The Medicine Werx Solution
Our slogan is “Vision for a better tomorrow...” and it guides our product development. We want to create something that, not only looks cool, but makes the world a better place than we found it.
Keeping this goal in mind, all Medicine Werx shades have two things in common - (1) they are artist-driven and (2) they eco-friendly and socially-conscious. These two characteristics are what appeals to our target demographic of millennials with a passion for music festivals and a desire to change the world. The Medicine Werx team and our customers share a love for creative expression and living alternatively. We believe in individuality and expressing ourselves through dance, song, art, travel, and clothing. Our wooden sunglasses are designed to fit into this unique lifestyle.
From start to finish, every pair of Medicine Werx wooden sunglasses is handcrafted. All frames are made from sustainably-harvested wood and we use high quality CR39 polarized lenses.
In keeping with our conscience, Medicine Werx enforces a healthy supplier code of conduct and offers transparent marketing materials. Currently, our sunglasses are made in China in a small family-owned factory; however, we would like to move manufacturing to the US in the future.
Additionally, to offset our carbon footprint, we have partnered with Trees for the Future to plant 10 trees for every pair of shades we sell.
We have already planted over 18,400 trees since starting our partnership in July 2014. We’re on the pathway to change!
The Medicine Werx Difference

Traction
Medicine Werx was born in December 2012, operating through grassroots sales at music festivals around the country and online marketing. Since then, Medicine Werx has accomplished some amazing things, with help from our dedicated fans.
Kickstarter Support – In 2015, we launched our first Kickstarter project.
We raised nearly $23,000 in 30 days, and 75% of the funds came from our established fan base. Most of our customers make less than $25,000 a year, but they are still willing to put aside money for our product. They believe in Medicine Werx works that much.
Strong Fan Base – We have an established, international fan base of nearly 50,000 followers through social networks and subscribers. We gained all followers without mainstream exposure.
Retail Store – Two years ago, we established our first flagship retail store and headquarters near Downtown Denver. Medicine Werx has a homebase.
Market Growth – We have a steady stream of income from our dedicated customers. We currently retail most of our product ourselves, and we have sold over 3,000 units so far.
Partnerships – We have partnered with multiple music festivals and alternative, independent brands to expand our reach. Music festivals are extremely popular among our target market, and we attend them regularly to promote our brand. We also partner with effective non-profits, such as 1% for the Planet and Trees for the Future.
After all of this success, we are now ready to expand our
brand.
Fair Trade Certified Apparel – We are looking to expand into Fair Trade Certified, organic apparel. We want people to be able to dress themselves head-to-toe in our brand.
Expand to Retail Stores – We want to see the Medicine Werx brand in retail stores like PacSun. We just need the funding to bulk up our inventory.
This is only the beginning for Medicine Werx. We plan to keep growing, and you can help.
