Milk is made of a mixture of substances, casein protein (80%) and whey protein (20%) being the two main applicable elements, that do not separate/settle when left to rest over time. This mixture is called a colloid. When the pH of milk is lowered, it causes these components to separate. Curds are made of solid casein protein particles (alpha, beta, and kappa) (Technology 1-2), formed into groups called casein micelles, which can be disturbed by lemon juice, though it is a weak acid (Isoelectric Precipitation of Proteins: Casein from Milk ). Instead of remaining as one solid mixture…

This investigation consists of testing the reaction between milk, food coloring, and dishwashing soap. Different kinds of milk were tested, depending on the amount of milk fat content. The investigation was based on 2 questions. Lab one’s problem statement, using only milk fat and food coloring was: How does food coloring react in different kinds of milk fat? The second lab’s problem statement, using milk fat, food coloring, and dishwashing soap was: What happens when detergent is added to different milk fats and food coloring? The expectation is that the milk with higher fat content will have a more dramatic reaction. If the milk has a higher fat content, then the reaction of food coloring and dishwashing detergent will be more dramatic because there are more molecules to interact with each other.…

    Cow Milk Research Paper

Cow milk has been falsely advertised to make your bones stronger, in fact, it is quite the contrary; it has proven to make you more prone to bone fractures and osteoporosis. For example, cow’s milk is designed for calves, not humans meaning it has metabolic differences that actually have detrimental consequences on our bone health. One of those consequences is that milk is an acidifying animal protein meaning over time it decreases our bone density, making our bones weak and more likely to fracture. The most common reason why we are told to drink milk by doctors is to ingest the calcium that, will in turn, increase our bone health and density. In reality, the rate of the milk’s acids wearing down our bones is faster than the rate of the calcium making our bones stronger. So, essentially milk is actually making…
